The Nintendo Power Scavenger Hunt

In the summer of 2018 I decided I wanted to pay tribute to the 30th anniversary of Nintendo Power magazine. It was a very important part of my childhood – I have many fond memories of receiving issues in the mail and pouring over every page. Back then, it was how we learned tips and tricks for our favorites games, but also how we found out about new and upcoming games. In those pre-internet days, there really wasn’t anything like it. It was like a secret club that everyone wanted to be part of.
 

So, to honor such an amazing magazine, I held an online event through my social media accounts and on the Nintendo Age forums where I posted riddles that required participants to actually flip through issues of the magazine to solve. I created thirty two normal and one bonus riddles for the event.

I wanted to create a reason to flip back through these cherished magazines. So, I decided to offer an NES Classic and SNES Classic as prizes that would randomly be given away to participants.

Below, you’ll find all the riddles I created. Although the contest is long over, feel free to join in and go on a journey through many issues of a magnificent magazine. I hope you have fun!
