As many of you probably know by now, I’m a big fan of Mega Man. Specifically though, I grew up playing Mega Man 2, so that’s the one I really have a soft spot for. I enjoy all of them, but the second in the series stands as one of my all time favorite NES games. It’s actually sitting on my desk right now.
If you’ve been following my work you know that I’ve already made a tribute piece celebrating the 25th anniversary of the original Mega Man, so it only made sense to me to create one for Mega Man 2. I decided I wanted to make something a little different though – something more complex and if possible, more unique. I wanted to create something new that had never been seen before. Something to help give back a little to the gaming scene and hopefully remind people of all the old memories they have for this amazing game. I came up with a few different ideas, but I kept coming back to the infamous level select screen… I can’t even look at it without hearing the music in my head. Can you?
With that decision made, I marched onward and created the piece you see today. I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed creating it
